What exactly is this for?

As graduate students in the Mental Health Counseling program, we have been presented with the task of bringing awareness to both our professional field and the position of a mental health counselor. We approached the task with a campaign-like model, and took to the streets questioning the general public on what they did or did not know about the field, while simultaneously informing them on this lack of knowledge. Our group has created this website where we currently display both our findings and important relevant information about mental health counseling. The website will be continually updated with recent information and interesting findings for all to enjoy!

What type of clients do you usually work with?

Mental health counselors are capable of working in many different settings. Dependent upon the setting in which they are located, their clientele can vary greatly.
